Watch the Dust My Broom: Ex. 5b online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Kings of Blues & Rock Vol. 8: Freddie King

In this second half of the 12-bar form, I begin with rhythmically-sharp phrases, descending on the top two strings before utilizing the same quick shift down to first position in bar 2. In bars 3 and 4, I utilize essentially the same riff over the V chord, B7, and the IV chord, A7, respectively; this is a great riff that begins with an arpeggiated triplet but moves immediately into fast single note lines. At the end of bar 4, I lean one more time on that quick shift down to first position, and wrap up the solo with more traditional, "Lightnin' Hopkins"-style blues riffs.
